Super Why (pbs)This is by far the best online reading program for 4-6. Four characters guide kids through rescue missions solved by using various small motor and intellectual skills. It's smart and optomistic without being too saccharine. The directions are mostly verbal so even pre-reading children can join in and play.CBeebies
Pre-readers using the BBC's young children&s site (under 6) need an adult to get them started. There are most of the familiar characters (Teletubbies, Clifford, Bob the Builder) and tens of others that are equally as well scripted and positive in message. Two of the site's advantages are an absolute lack of commercialism (no crappy trans-fat temptations here) and the very professional content. All of the activities are well designed and work without additional installations or complications.
